Our Love Story

Our Love Story *

From the Bay to Los Angeles & all around the world

It all began in San Francisco—where we fell in love. One of us had just finished the first year of medical school, the other working in tech in the busy tech-hub of San Francisco. We quickly knew - from laughing endlessly and talking all night - sparks flew - our love would last a lifetime. In the early days of our love, Nick showed Nivedita his San Francisco — from walks in Golden Gate park, going to see Cirque du Soleil, to baking sourdough bread on foggy mornings. We rode through the Marin headlands on Nick’s motorcycle, chased the heat at fiery Szechuan restaurants, sipped Japanese whiskey in tucked-away bars, and once even brought home a live crab from Chinatown to cook together, laughing the whole way through. Over almost 6 years time, those dreams and love for each other only grew deeper—one of us becoming a doctor, the other founding a company. Side by side, we’ve weathered long hospital nights, startup sprints, and life’s quiet in-betweens.

Six years in, we’ve traveled to over 15 countries and counting (5 more to go to this year!). From the ancient streets of Cairo to the bustling street lights of Hong Kong to the beaches of Trinidad, we’ve shared meals under stars, gotten lost in cities, and danced at more weddings than we can count—each celebration a reminder of the love and community we are lucky to be part of. We are lucky to have visited India together many times now - to share in the vibrancy and culture of Nivedita’s heritage and extended family.

We’ve built a life grounded in laughter, support, and purpose. Surrounded by loving family and lifelong friends, we cherish making dinner together, hosting parties, trying out every new restaurant, dancing at all times of the day, and conversations just about everything. We’ve created a home together now for over 3 years in Silverlake, Los Angeles and our home is always stocked with ice cream and of course, chili oil.

We hold space for each other’s dreams, and believe fiercely in doing good—with our work, our love, and our time here together. We are endlessly in love, and even more incredibly loved. Our journey is one of mutual support, deep joy, and the simple, sacred act of showing up for each other, every day.

We can’t wait to see more of the world together—and maybe, in some small way, help change it for the better. We’re so grateful to be sharing our special day(s) with all of you.

Getting There

We are so lucky to have friends and family literally in every corner of the world. We are so grateful that you are able to make the journey to Oahu, Hawai’i for our wedding. It truly means so much to us.

Honolulu has Hawai’i’s major international airport, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, HNL - please fly into this airport.

We strongly advise people to stay in Waikīkī as many of our events will be based in and around Waikiki.

Pro-tip on flight purchasing: There are many non-stop flights from LAX and SFO that are relatively affordable (~300 USD roundtrip), so if you can try to connect to LAX or SFO in some way - you will make it to this beautiful island

Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. And, Nivedita’s past time is finding flight deals and knowing about airplanes, travel routes, etc… so will happily help plan your trip.

We recommend people come in on November 19th and encourage people to stay until the evening of November 23rd
